Autumn Vann is a Texas-based mixed media painter whose work is inspired by the vibrant color palettes and expressive brushwork of the Fauvist movement. Her paintings are characterized by their unrehearsed subject matter, encouraging a playful and spontaneous approach to art-making. Vann’s vivid color choices and bold compositions create visually striking pieces that evoke a sense of joy and energy. She has exhibited her work in numerous local shows around Houston.

In her personal life Autumn enjoys going to the museum district, spending time with her two kiddos, and fur babies, crocheting, and learning pottery!

Autumn is currently creating her “Flowers for Slim” mixed-media painting series as a heartfelt tribute to her beloved late cat, Slim. Slim came into Autumn’s life around 2011, already about a year old, and quickly became far more than a pet. Slim became a constant companion and best friend.

For thirteen years, Slim was by Autumn’s side through the rhythms of daily life. Now, through this series, Autumn honors that deep bond in the language she knows best: art. In each painting, Slim is surrounded by flowers serving as symbols of love, remembrance, and gratitude. By placing these blooms around her beloved companion, Autumn ensures that Slim will always have her flowers, a quiet and enduring gesture of devotion that keeps their connection alive on the canvas. 🌸🐾🎨
